About Modern Filipino Cuisine

FOOD CATERER Please call for inquiries.

Modern Filipino Cuisine is a caterer in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It is listed at 451 Melwood Ave, Pittsburgh, PA 15213, which places it among the local businesses of Pittsburgh that residents and visitors turn to when they need this kind of service close by.

This group covers the non-Asian restaurants, cafes, bars and food businesses that also appear in a mixed-cuisine food scene, including American diners, pizza, Mexican food, burgers, steakhouses and bakeries. Standard US restaurant norms apply: lunch and dinner service with a quieter stretch between, cards and tap-to-pay accepted almost everywhere, and a tip of 15-20% customary for table service. Fast food and quick-service counters expect payment up front and tipping is optional. Bars check ID for anyone who looks under 30, and the drinking age is 21 nationwide. Many restaurants in this group take reservations online through third-party platforms, while casual and fast-food spots are walk-in only. Sales tax is added at the register on top of the menu price and varies by city and state, so the final total is usually a few percent higher than the posted prices suggest.

No hours are on file. If you plan a visit, phone first or check the Google Maps link on this page for the latest times. You can reach Modern Filipino Cuisine at (412) 230-8434; calling is usually the quickest way to ask about availability, prices or directions. More information is available on its website, modernfilipinocuisine.com.

Customers rate it 4.4 out of 5 on Google across 50 reviews, placing it among the better-regarded caterers & food delivery in Pittsburgh.

Pittsburgh is in Pennsylvania, in the Northeast, where four distinct seasons shape local life: hot humid summers, snowy winters that can close businesses for a day, and a dense pattern of towns where walking, transit and street parking all matter. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Pittsburgh follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Well, I don't like leaving not good reviews, but a couple of weeks after having food delivered for my wife's birthday, I feel like I need to leave one here. The big issue is the price. Because they don't have a restaurant, you don't really know what you are getting until it is delivered. By then, the payment is made and the deal is done. We ordered a half tray of beef caldareta, half tray of pork adobo, half tray of pancit, and half tray of lumpia. With the $30 delivery charge, it was $410! The pancit had no meat, the adobo was packed with a lot of potatoes and very fatty meat, the lumpia were just okay, but the beef caldareta was fantastic. However, I can't get over the price. The food was in shallow pans. I would have picked it up and saved $30, but that wasn't an option and let's face it, even if it was $30 less, it was still way, way overpriced. So, the food was just okay for the most part and the price was ridiculous.

Modern Filipino Cuisine hits home with every dish. The chicken adobo instantly reminded me of my mom’s cooking β€” rich, savory, and comforting. The caldereta has that same home-cooked warmth, packed with flavor that feels both familiar and special. Service is quick and friendly, making it easy to stop in even on a busy day. If you’re under the weather or just craving something soothing, the sinigang is a must. Tangy, hearty, and soul-warming β€” it’s exactly the kind of dish that makes you feel cared for. This place captures the spirit of Filipino comfort food and delivers it with consistency. Highly recommend for anyone looking for authentic flavors and a touch of home.

As always the food at Modern Filipino Cuisine never disappoint. I ordered Crispy Pork Sisig together with Grilled Liempo recently. Serving size is generous and I shared it with my partner. They are not a dine-in restaurant so I other customers should be aware of that. Good thing I use my eyes to check first about their information. I will surely ordered again and try some other dishes. Everything is fresh and properly cooked as you will see it the way they presented their food. Thank you.

We had Modern Filipino cater my son's birthday. I am very happy with both the service and the quality of of the food. They were very responsive to my initial inquiry for catering and easy to work with regarding delivery/timing. We ordered the pancit bihon, lechon kawali, lumpia shanghai, and chicken skewers. All of the food was very good, but the star of the show was definitely the lechon kawali. It was perfectly cooked with super crispy skin and tender inside. We will definitely be ordering here again.

The food was very delicious!! Brought me back to the Philippines lol They catered for my daughter’s birthday, before they even officially opened! So I’m very grateful they were able to do that for us! They were very kind and accommodating! My guests enjoyed the food and got to taste Filipino food for the first time. I would say the food was 5 out of 5!! I will definitely order again and recommend them if anyone is looking for Filipino food!!! Salamat po, masarap ang pagkain !
